What is FanContact?
FanContact is a new app for sending/scheduling Facebook Messages (with automated follow-ups) and building your FB Messenger “List” at the same time.
This is how it works…
Step 1 Connect your Facebook Account to FanContact
You only have to create your own Facebook App and connect it with FanContact. Just follow the easy to do steps in the video tutorial.
So, you are using your own API (an Individual Sender FB app) and not a Facebook Messenger Bot API. This is huge benefit. As Bot APIs us a shared sender system, where many people use the same app, it may lead to problems as shared app delivery problems. Or in case of non allowed usage by other users, even can result into a complete ban of your Facebook account.
With your Individual Sender FB app no any other user in the system can affect your sender app reputation and delivery rates.
Step 2 Build your FB Messenger List
There are 2 ways, you can add new subscribers to your FB Messenger List:
A) People who send you a FB Message. FanContact will automatically add anyone to your list who will send you a FB Message (i.e. messaged you on one of your Fan Pages). Of course, you can stimulate people to send you a FB Message by adding “Message Me” buttons or giving away stuff that people only can obtain by sending you a FB message.
B) People who comment on one of your posts on your Fan Page.
The main FanContact front-end application allows you to start a FB Messenger campaign by auto replying on a specific new post.
In this case, you will send them an auto FB message dedicated to a certain post. Or you can send a more general reply for all posts, for example:
“Thank you for your comment. From now on we will send you important FB messages about …. You can unsubscribe from these messages by just replying with Stop or Unsubscribe.”
However, (with the front-end) you have to set a new campaign for each new Facebook post.
As I can understand that if you have many new posts (or auto posts) to set up a new auto reply campaign can be very annoying and time consuming, hence you want to automate this feature.
Luckily, you can you can do this by buying the first OTO, called the FanContact Comment Reply Assistant.
Also, if your Fan Page has some history with many prior commenters, you will probably want to auto add all these commenters to your FB Messenger List as well.
Well, you can with the second OTO, called Smart Contact Adder.
The Smart Contact Adder is a very smart tool. It looks and grabs all comments from all your Fan Pages with no replies yet, and automatically sends your preset reply and on the background adds these commenters to your FB Messenger list.
Hence, a must have tool for existing Fan Pages with lots of engagement.
(Tip: although Facebook doesn’t allow you to buy Fan Pages, there are many pages for sale and after buying such a page, you can now grab these commenters with the Smart Contact Adder and build your list “very cheap”)
Segment subscribers based upon your email list(s) or anyone who visited one of your web pages
If you’ll buy OTO3: the FanContact Contact Segmenter Module, you can segment your current email subscribers.
How? Just by importing a csv file consisting of your email subscriber details (usually you can download such a list from your ESP/Autoresponder). The software tries to match your subscriber’s details with your current FB Messenger subscriber list and the matched items get a separate tag. From that moment, you can send your FB Messages to (only) those segmented lists.
In the coming weeks (after the next release), you can also segment your FB Messenger subscribers by using pixels on your web pages (not the FB pixels, but a new one created by FanContact). Everyone who visited a page (i.e the pixel has been fired) can be tagged with your unique “tag”.
Step 3 Send (Unlimited) Facebook Messages
You can broadcast your messages instantly or save them for later and send them anytime you want…
Just enter your text message with either an image or a video (and you can use the built-in URL shortener).
And select your Fan Page and FB App (in case you use more than one FB Sender).
Preview your message in the preview box. (Optional) send a test message. And hit create to finish your campaign (and hit send (as one of the campaigns actions) at the moment you really want to send out your message).

Are there any shortcomings?
With the standard, main front-end product, you’ll get one user account and you can send unlimited notifications. And you’re allowed to build your subscribers list to a maximum of 5,000 users.
Probably enough for most of you to start with. If you’ll reach that number, you can upgrade inside the members area (there is no way to extend this maximum in the current sales funnel).
If you’ll need extra FB accounts, you can upgrade via OTO7 (extra Business Packs – see below).
As you are using one sender (one FB app), and your messages are send out sequentially, there is a change that the processing time slows down over time if your list is growing. In this case, you can buy extra Sender Packages (OTO8 – see below).
As described above, you can setup an auto reply campaign for each new FB post, but to automate this feature you’ll need the first OTO. And to also “import” commenters on already earlier postings, you’ll need the second OTO.
Although, I don’t like unnecessary upgrade, I can understand why the seller has taken these 2 features out of the main front-end. Both will take substantial extra server usage and costs (to be paid by the seller). However, I don’t think the writer of the sales page did a great job. It’s not clear what the “Import your existing Commenters” and “Passive Opt-in Accelerator” features are. And that you’ll have to buy OTO1 and/or OTO2 to automate this process for current and prior comments.
Also, the main front-end has no segmentation feature. But by buying OTO3, you can segment based upon website visits and email lists.
A great feature that I do miss and would like to have been included, is the feature to segment your list manually (or automatically) based upon knowledge about or responds of your subscribers.
Especially, because some subscribers don’t care how often you’ll send them messages while others prefer less messages, f.e. just one message a week.
Furthermore, this is not an interactive FB Messenger Bot. You know those bots that allows you to automatically interact with your subscribers based upon the keywords used in their answer and by using JSON script.
If you are looking to automate your FB message inbox, f.e. for support purposes (canned reponses) or to automate the sales process (sending discount codes etc.), FanContact is not the right app for you.
And as far as I could see, there is no way to automate the unsubscribe process. You can only manually delete subscribers from the list.
